Over Fifty New Features Enhancing Accuracy, Productivity, Security & Connectivity
Laguna Hills, CA November 17, 2016 – Ephesoft Inc., creators of the industry-leading Smart Capture® advanced document capture platform, today announced the release of Ephesoft Transact 4.1 (previously named Ephesoft Enterprise), the company’s cloud-based platform for automating document driven processes. Ephesoft Transact was previewed for customers and business partners at the company’s recent technology conference, Innovate, held in Irvine, California.
Key new features in the release include dynamic document classification, ERP integrations with progressive line item matching between purchase orders and invoices, a new secure web scanning service that eliminates applets while supporting https protocol, and advanced machine learning for document classification and content extraction.
“Our philosophy in developing Ephesoft Transact is to focus on our core premise of delivering an easy to use, intelligent document capture platform so more organizations can benefit from the technology,” explained Ike Kavas, Ephesoft’s Chief Technology Officer. “The hallmark of Ephesoft Smart Capture technology has been the ability to identify documents with few samples and extract data fields regardless of format. With machine learning introduced in Ephesoft Transact 4.1, we make both these processes easier for administrators and operators.”
The platform name change reflects how the new features are deployed: helping organizations automate and accelerate document driven transactions. The machine learning functionality in Transact 4.1 enables users to guide the software in introducing new multi-page document types into the system. The program looks at multiple dimensions of the content and is then able to recognize future documents and their associated content with no additional samples. Additionally, Ephesoft Transact 4.1 utilizes multiple methodologies for identifying documents via content analysis, pixel analytics, barcodes or a dynamic, best match process that employs all three technologies.
“The new release also emphasizes open interface connectivity,” continued Mr. Kavas. “Our use of Web Service APIs ensures that Ephesoft provides a frictionless interface with ERP, content management and even other document capture applications.”
In addition to native Oracle connectivity, Ephesoft Transact also has built –in connectors to Microsoft SharePoint, so PDF and TIFF documents and their associated meta-data can be auto-routed to an online SharePoint repository.
For advanced capture applications which require regulatory compliance or have highly sensitive content, Ephesoft Transact has added several security features including in-process data encryption on the Linux platform, support for Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) for a Single Sign On (SSO) framework, and Personal Identity Verification (PIV) and Common Access Card (CAC) authentication.
