Veteran tech leader to facilitate long-term fiscal plan for next growth phase into new and expanded markets ripe for machine learning-based document capture

Irvine, Calif. – Feb. 22, 2018 – Ephesoft, Inc., the leading developer of machine learning-based document capture and analytics solutions, today announced that it has appointed Naren Goel as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). As CFO, Goel will enact a progressive and responsible fiscal model as Ephesoft scales to meet the growing global demand for its technology, which enables organizations to mine their unstructured data. Using patented supervised machine learning technology, Ephesoft provides organizations with the tools and power to drive decisions from what has historically been inaccessible, unstructured data. From banking to healthcare, organizations with document-intensive workflows like mortgage and invoicing use Ephesoft to automate business processes, improving accuracy, increasing productivity and reducing costs.

“It’s an especially exciting time at Ephesoft as our expanded management team takes shape and the company strengthens its mission to solve the world’s unstructured data challenges,” said Ike Kavas, CEO at Ephesoft. “Naren has quantifiable experience instituting smart and actionable fiscal plans at growing software companies. His expertise and vision will be invaluable as Ephesoft escalates its global influence across the smart document capture industry.”

Goel’s hire is the latest development in a period of rapid growth for Ephesoft, following its $15 million in Series A funding from Mercato Partners last summer. The company has retained several C-level hires and opened a new headquarters office in Irvine, California last month.

“Having reached topline critical mass and assembled a cohesive and experienced management team, Ephesoft is well poised for its crucial next phase of growth,” said Goel. “With international expansion comes increased fiscal responsibility, and I am eager to work alongside the management team to apply an operationally-driven, calculated, vigorous and holistic financial plan. As we move into new territory and expand the reach of our Smart Capture® solution, I will focus on bringing predictability and consistency to the Ephesoft model.”

Goel will preside over teams, systems and processes to fiscally prepare the company for scalable, worldwide growth. He brings nearly 20 years of senior finance leadership experience to the position, having led a broad range of startups to large corporations such as VMWare through various stages of growth. Goel has a strong background as a financial executive for a number of enterprise software and cloud computing organizations, including an understanding of Software-as-a-Service-related metrics. At Ephesoft, he will focus on strengthening the company’s bottom line as it strives for worldwide adoption of supervised machine learning document capture and analytics software, and the creation of a productive and collaborative internal work environment.
